McDonald's

01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Situated conveniently on 91 Dunkeld Rd in Perth, the McDonald’s outlet here is a vibrant fixture in the local fast-food scene, seamlessly blending the familiar comfort of American-style dining with the speedy convenience expected from a global icon. Specializing in classic fast-food fare, this McDonald’s location caters to a broad palette, offering everything from satisfying breakfast options to indulgent burger and chicken menus that keep locals and visitors coming back for more.

As you step inside or pull up to the drive-thru, the atmosphere is instantly recognizable—a lively diner vibe punctuated by efficient service and the inviting aromas of freshly prepared fries and sizzling grilled chicken. While the setting is casual and familiar, the food itself never fails to deliver that unmistakable McDonald’s flavor, providing comfort and familiarity in every bite.

Popular crowd-pleasers include their iconic hamburgers, crispy chicken nuggets, and a variety of breakfast selections—fluffy sausage sandwiches and aromatic coffee, perfect for grabbing on the go. One particularly praised element is the thick, flavourful banana milkshake, which strikes a delightful balance—rich enough to be indulgent but smooth enough to enjoy effortlessly. Although the chocolate milkshake was unavailable during a recent visit, the banana flavor won genuine enthusiasm for its creamy texture and authentic taste.

Customer feedback beautifully captures the essence of this spot: Jeanie MacMaster humorously depicts it as “Perth’s own Sistine Chapel, but with more chicken nuggets,” highlighting both the cultural familiarity and the playful spirit McDonald’s inspires. The drive-thru provides a moment to pause and reflect—even if it’s on life itself—while Graeme Kelly appreciates the clean environment and polite, prompt staff. For those seeking quick, reliable meals, Lidzia Lidzia’s praise of its consistent affordability and quality, paired with surprisingly good coffee, sums it up perfectly.

While some experiences vary—such as the flat sausage sandwich and weak coffee noted by Mike Mullen—the overall sentiment is clear: this McDonald’s strives to maintain a reliable, welcoming environment. Ample parking makes for an easy stop, while the efficient drive-thru keeps the flow smooth during busy hours.

Whether you’re craving a quick breakfast, a comforting burger, or a refreshing milkshake, the McDonald’s at Dunkeld Rd balances tradition with convenience, serving as a dependable go-to for a satisfying, casual dining experience in the heart of Perth.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “If Michelin ever start handing out stars for fluorescent lighting and the fine art of lukewarm fries, this place will have three immediately. The Dunkeld Road McDonald’s is nothing short of a cultural landmark — Perth’s own Sistine Chapel, but with more chicken nuggets. From the moment you join the drive-thru queue (which gives you ample time to reflect on your life choices), you just know you’re in for an experience. The burgers arrive in record speed, which is suspiciously fast — I can only assume Gordon Ramsay himself is hiding in the kitchen. The Coke? A gourmet blend of syrup and carbonation, carefully crafted to melt ice in under 3 minutes. The ambiance inside is second to none: the soothing hum of the ice cream machine that definitely works, the thrilling sight of teenagers skilfully pressing buttons on the till while trying not to roll their eyes. And let’s not forget the seating — designed with the ergonomic comfort of a Victorian church pew. Truly, if you want fine dining, cultural enrichment, and fries that may or may not have been fried this decade, look no further than McDonald’s Dunkeld Road. Five stars, because six isn’t an option.”

Delicious Banana Milkshake. Unfortunately the Chocolate Milkshake I originally wanted was unavailable but I was happy with my Banana Milkshake. It was a lovely thick shake but at some of the McDonald’s branches, the milkshakes can be so thick that it causes a bit of effort to consume. But the milkshake was pleasantly thick and full of flavour. The drive thru was efficient too although it is at the back of the restaurant. I can completely see why you may drive past and skip past because the drive thru is at the back of the restaurant!

The usual you would expect from McDonalds. Visited and had from breakfast menu. Weak coffee and flat sausage sandwich. At least you could customise brown/red sauce. Plenty of parking

Macdonald's is a great place for a quick and tasty meal. The food is consistent, affordable, and there’s a wide selection to choose from, especially if you’re on the go. I really enjoy the breakfast options and the coffee is surprisingly good. The service is usually fast, and many locations are clean and welcoming. It’s a reliable spot for a casual bite anytime.

I always prefer to have Nuggets, and Milkshake here. Serving time is also very efficient. I always visit this McDonald’s rather than at Broxden round about. House keeping wise it’s too poor. I hope they will allot a housekeeping staff as per required.
